Agbeyewa Hosts 3rd Annual Ekiti Traditional Rulers’ Retreat to Drive Cassava Industrial Growth

Agbeyewa Farms Limited has announced plans to host the third edition of its Annual Ekiti Traditional Rulers’ Retreat on April 15, 2026, at the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort and Conference Centre.

The retreat, now in its third year, has grown into a flagship platform for engagement between Ekiti’s traditional rulers and key players in the agricultural sector. It aims to strengthen collaboration between royal institutions and modern agribusinesses in promoting community development, food security, and inclusive economic growth.

Agbeyewa, an agribusiness platform under Cavista Holdings, has continued to position itself at the forefront of Nigeria’s cassava value chain transformation. Its operations span cultivation, aggregation, processing, and agro-trading, with a focus on creating sustainable livelihoods and empowering rural communities.

This effort is further reinforced through its role in powering the Matna Cassava Industrial Platform (MCIP), a key component of Cavista Holdings’ Food and Agriculture strategy aimed at accelerating cassava industrialization in Nigeria.

The 2026 retreat is expected to draw prominent traditional rulers, government officials, and stakeholders across the agricultural ecosystem. The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, is billed to declare the event open.

Also expected is the Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, who will serve as Royal Father of the Day. The Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Dr. Adejimi Samuel Adu, will lead other monarchs from across the state.

A keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Charity Aremu, focusing on the theme, “Driving Economic Transformation Through Sustainable Agricultural Development.”

According to the organisers, the retreat represents more than a ceremonial gathering. It is designed as a strategic convergence of tradition and enterprise, reinforcing Agbeyewa’s vision of building a globally competitive cassava ecosystem rooted in cultural heritage, partnership, and sustainability.

Central to this vision is the MCIP framework, which is structured around three pillars: ensuring security of supply through large-scale farming and community partnerships led by Agbeyewa; enabling processing scalability via industrial capabilities; and driving market expansion through global partnerships facilitated by Cavista Holdings.

The programme will also feature a strategic session on Cavista Holdings’ Food and Agriculture Industrialization Platform, highlighting how integrated agricultural supply, industrial processing, and global market access are shaping the future of cassava production in Nigeria.

Industry observers say the initiative could position Nigeria as a global leader in cassava-based food and industrial ingredient production, while unlocking economic opportunities across rural communities.
